Our Mission, and, Our Team
To contribute to facilitating the mental, physical and emotional development and growth of students in schools in the most underprivileged and underserved neighborhoods.
What is CC,CD?
CC,CD is a non-profit organization, launched in 2014, focused on ensuring that no child is deprived of the opportunity of an enriched and inspired life by virtue of simply where they live, how much money their family has, or what their parents situation might be.
We build and serve as a matching clearinghouse for schools, corporate and civic partner organizations and volunteers, so that interested stakeholders can come together and create sustainable programs at these schools, eliminating the roadblock often encountered in how those in need can find those who want to help and vice versa. We also work directly with principals at such schools to provide supplemental goods and services to the students most in need.
“Wow, this is amazing! I am so excited. I’m blown away by this incredible opportunity!”
— School Principal on Community Cares, Community Does Leadership Program
Community Cares, Community Does will execute all of this so as to foster a nurturing, supportive school ecosystem, enabling participating students to further their path to being successful upon leaving school and to becoming valuable adult contributors to the community.
“Every summer camp you went to or every piano lesson you got or every time you went to a soccer club, you were getting some advantage…that somebody else out there…was not…‘It’s not an accusation, but a rallying cry, a call to come to the altar and help save someone else’s children.”
— Robert Putnam, Harvard Professor, Author (“Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis”), and National Humanities Medal Winner
Advisors
CC,CD's group of advisors represent a cross section of the community. They not only provide guidance on CC,CD's future direction, but also, often roll up their sleeves and play an integral volunteer role in delivering programs and services.
